PUC/Studio Fugu

Studio Fugu is a cultural platform based in Vienna, Austria. It was founded by Amir A. Ahmadi in order to promote and facilitate contemporary art. In 2018 Maria Shurkhal and Anna Possarnig joined Studio Fugu and founded the Pop-Up Collective as a main driving force. The interdisciplinary collective is focused on the three pillars of “Create - Share - Collaborate”.

The collective has collaborated with such institutions as WUK, BRUT, Bears in the Park, Brick15, Porgy and Bess, Dark City/Raum 8, Gogolfest, Albania Dance Meeting Festival, Gallus Theater Frankfurt among others. The projects were supported by the city of Vienna, the ministry for culture, sports and education, as well as by Austrian cultural forums in Kyiv, Tirana, and Warsaw.

In 2019 Studio Fugu was a partner of Bilateral Cultural Exchange Year Austria-Ukraine and facilitated ARTIL project - a program that invited young choreographers to work with dancers, mentored by international experts and touring the three partner countries (AUT, UKR, POL). Artil resulted in a large-scale project that lasted over 6 months and engaged 50 + participants.

For each event, PUC unites talented professionals to meet the specific needs and goals of the project. The team consists of founding members that form the core team of the collective and associated artist who work with PUC on a regular basis but in specific projects.
